Friends of the Foundation Dinner

Gather around the table with FSF friends for an evening of food and fun! We welcome Dr. Tara Keyser of the USDA Forest Service for a keynote presentation on the “femelschlag” forest management approach. There will be a cash only bar and Chance Auction with great prizes!

Your ticket includes dinner, dessert, and one drink ticket. The whole evening will take place outdoors, weather-permitting.

5:30pm: Social Hour and Chance Auction

6:30pm: Welcome Remarks, followed by Dinner and a Keynote Presentation over dessert.

Keynote Presentation: Tara Keyser, PhD

Director of the Center for Forest Restoration and Management at the USDA Forest Service Southern Research Station, Asheville, NC.

Sustainability & Conservation of Eastern Hardwood Forests: Past, Present and Femelschlag!

Dr. Tara Keyser is a Research Forester and the Director of the Center for Forest Restoration and Management with the USDA FS, Southern Research Station located in Asheville, North Carolina. She has a BS in Forest Ecology and Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a MS and PhD in forest sciences from Colorado State University. Tara’s current research program focuses on the sustainable management and restoration of upland hardwood in the eastern US. She has extensive experience in implementing large, at-scale experimentally designed silvicultural studies that provide the science-based information necessary to refine existing and develop new silvicultural methods and tools in upland oak ecosystems across the eastern US.
