Jim Finley Stewardship Day

October 1, 2022 @ 9:00 am 3:00 pm

To honor the memory of distinguished forest educator and visionary conservationist James C. Finley, the Foundation for Sustainable Forests is introducing a new annual event, the Jim Finley Stewardship Day.

Each year, we will come together at an FSF-conserved property for a project that is tied to the long-term health and resilience of the forest.

This year’s work will take place at Moxie Woods near Greenville, Mercer County, PA. FSF is in the midst of conducting significant understory management there to address the presence of invasive plant species. With your help, we will enhance these efforts by cleaning up an old farmstead site at Moxie Woods.

FSF will supply the necessary tools and supplies to get the job done, but you are also encouraged to bring your own tools, work gloves, etc. Dress for the weather, but also for brambles, muddy terrain, etc.

Lunch, beverages, and snacks will be provided. There will be a bathroom facility on site. We will request that you RSVP for this event, so that we can plan the projects and tools according to the group size. To RSVP, please complete the form below or call (814) 694-5830.
