Celebrating Spring with the Lynn Firth Wildflower Walk

Yesterday’s Lynn Firth Wildflower Walk was a true celebration of Spring after the long winter! We pivoted to walking at Sparta Sportsmen’s Community Forest on Old Rte 77 Rd. where the flowers were further along, and were rewarded with the sight of flowering hobblebush – a rare find in our region.

Other plants observed were trout lily, white trillium, red trillium or wake-robin, Hepatica, foamflower, squirrel-corn, Solomon’s seal, dwarf ginseng, common toothwort, jack-in-the-pulpit, and so. many. ramps (or wild leeks)!
