Earlier this month, the Foundation for Sustainable Forests hosted an Annual Dinner and Forestry Walk for our Loving the Land Through Working Forests weekend.

Dinner at the Iroquois Club in Conneaut Lake, PA, featured brief remembrances of Wendell Berry by Troy Firth, and a keynote presentation by historian and author Allen Dieterich-Ward titled “Cradle of Conservation: An Environmental History of Pennsylvania”.

The Forestry Walk was led by Guy Dunkle at Robert Crawford Memorial Forest in Edinboro, PA. His walk guided attendees through the land use history and condition of the site, and how he is using forestry to improve the trajectory of the forest towards long-term health and resilience.

We sincerely thank our sponsors for making it possible to offer the “Loving the Land Through Working Forests” gathering at no cost to the public!
